Healthy Environments for our Children and Seniors
A Healthy Start for Children
Our children are a message we send to a future we will never see.
What message are we sending? What future are we shaping?
To prepare for tomorrow we must begin with healthy infants and
trained parents. Our children must build their future on a foundation
of health care that begins in pregnancy, nurturing love in infancy,
intellectual stimulation starting in the earliest years, and quality
child care, preschool and kindergarten.
We all have a stake in these programs. In an economy that runs
on brainpower, workforce development begins with a pregnant mother.
An Active Future for Seniors
At the same time we need to provide healthy, safe environments
for our seniors. In Cleveland, we can come together to help older
people live independently, deal with chronic disease, overcome loneliness
and remain secure, active, contributing members of our community.
With strong neighborhood networks, our older citizens will maintain
their economic, physical and social well-being longer. That benefits
all of us: neighbors, community groups, and families.
