• Jane started her professional career in neighborhood development. In fact, she is the only candidate for Mayor who has managed a neighborhood development program;
• She understands that the only way to build a world class city is neighborhood by neighborhood. Why? Because that is where the solutions are. Our most serious challenges -- like education reform -- can only be addressed effectively at the neighborhood level. It's where we live life face-to-face;
• She understands that every neighborhood is different and every block in every neighborhood is different. That's why she focuses on listening and building trust from the ground up. She understands that there are no shortcuts when it comes to building trust.
